This painting has been my laboratory for the last 18 months! When I started it, I could barely paint a flower. Safe to say, I’ve got it down pat now. Not only am I so so proud of the universe that exists in this work, I’m so proud of my own growth as an artist throughout the process. I tried out so many new materials and techniques that would just make me smile from ear to ear.
I found by the end that I actually painted a self portrait. My left brain can be clean and organized but the right brain is the catalyst to everything else and takes over completely!!! I miss this piece already but I’m thrilled that she’s in the world and can bring its levity and inspiration to all that gaze upon her!
This garden is full of love, surprises and dopamine. It has been a blessing to bring her into the world.
